Biography

Growing up in small town Saskatchewan, I graduated knowing one thing; that I loved sports.  This led me to Red Deer College and then the University of Alberta to complete a Fitness & Health Promotion Diploma and a Degree in Sports Performance. With this, I gained experience working in personal training, team training, fitness testing, and children’s health promotion. I have been lucky to work with the university hockey and rubgy teams, RCMP, firefighters, FC Edmonton, and the Edmonton Prospects.

While in a multidisciplinary clinic, I realized how inspired I was by the chiropractors. I wanted to help people the way they did and know as much as I could about health and the body, so I headed to Portand, Oregon to complete my Chiropractic Doctorate.

I’ve held certifications in Active Release Technique, Integrated Brain Therapy, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, Rocktape Performance Taping, and Strong First Kettlebell 1 as well.

Since becoming a chiropractor, and especially since becoming Mom to two little boys, I’ve taken a great interest in treating both pre and post-natal patients.  I take a lot of pride in educating pregnant women on reducing pregnancy related pain, having a successful delivery, as well as recovering and healing. I am certified in Pregnancy and Post-Partum Corrective Exercise and Webster Technique which is a gentle adjustment technique designed specifically for pregnant patients.

I enjoy taking a holistic approach to my patient’s health that involves corrective exercise, nutrition and supplement recommendations, and work/sleep ergonomics. I particularly enjoy helping headache patients as a previous migraine sufferer myself, I understand how they can derail your entire day. There are so many potential headache triggers that we can look at together.

Lastly, although I do love the power of joint manipulation (adjustments), I have had many patients who have greatly improved without it, so please don’t hesitate booking in even if your not okay with the “cracks and pops” us chiropractors can be known for, as I promise not to push you into any treatments your not comfortable with.
