Athletic Therapy

Gain mobility, strength and physical reconditioning to return back to sport safely.

One-on-one treatment targeted at helping you gain mobility, strength and physical reconditioning to return back to sport or activity safely.
Athletic Therapy is an integrated sport medicine model approach that focuses on the prevention, conditioning, early identification/ intervention and progressive rehabilitation of musculoskeletal (muscle, bone, joint) injuries.
Our AT’s are involved in progressive exercise-based rehabilitation plans and work closely with other therapists in the clinic to help active individuals regain the mobility, strength and physical conditioning needed to return to sport or activity.

Our ATHLETIC THERAPY services are offered at:

  • The Bridge – Sherwood Park
  • The Bridge – South Edmonton

OUR
PROCESS

THOROUGH ASSESSMENT

No matter the pain or limitation you’re facing, the first step is a thorough assessment where we take the extra time to listen, learn and hear your concerns and goals for the future.

OUR
PROCESS

MANAGE PAIN

We work to resolve pain and regain function first through a combination of manual therapy techniques, progressive exercises and education on managing your pain or limitations.

OUR
PROCESS

BUILD RESILIENCE

Once we’ve managed the pain, the fun part starts. We then introduce exercise to build strength and improve mobility to make sure your body is resilient enough to tolerate the stresses of your life and sport.

DO I NEED TO BE AN ATHLETE?

No, absolutely not! We have a special love for the athletic community, but you do not need to be an athlete to benefit from athletic therapy. No matter your goals, we can get you back to doing what you love pain-free.

IS ATHLETIC THERAPY RIGHT FOR ME?

AT’s are leading musculoskeletal injury and pain specialists. If you’re experiencing pain, limited strength, mobility, or any other issue stemming from your muscles, bones, joints, tendons or ligaments, we can help. As movement specialists, we can be your first line of treatment for evidence-based, professional help on all musculoskeletal issues you come across.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST SESSION?

Your first session will include a detailed assessment of your history, background, and goals moving forward. This extra time lets us get a holistic view of your pain or limitation to better inform your recovery. After we assess you, we will build a treatment plan involving education, relevant manual therapy, and a progressive exercise program.

DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S REFERERRAL?

No, athletic therapists are primary healthcare providers which means no referrals are needed to access our services.
