OUR STORY

1985: THE BEGINNING

Sherwood Park Sports Physiotherapy was founded in 1985 by Doug and Teresa Gilroy with a vision to have a multidisciplinary Sports Medicine Centre to treat athletic injuries in Sherwood Park. They believe that everyone deserves to live their best, healthy lives and will do whatever is necessary to help people get back to the sports & activities they love.

2000: THE GROWTH

In 2000, the vision grew as the clinic moved to the newly constructed Millennium Place and expanded to include a full team of rehab and fitness specialists.

2015: THE BRIDGE – CONNECTING HEALTH & PERFORMANCE

In 2015, the SPSP rehab team created the first of its kind, The Bridge, a cutting-edge treatment and training facility dedicated to injury rehabilitation, movement quality and performance training. As a multidisciplinary sports rehabilitation and performance training centre, The Bridge brings treatment and training experts together to “bridge the gap” from rehab to performance.

2018: SOUTH EDMONTON – NEW TERRITORY

Most recently, we are proud to add The Bridge – South Edmonton to our family in collaboration with Spark Sport Conditioning, providing treatment and training services to YEG’s south side in a massive 16,000 sq. ft. facility.

OUR PURPOSE

A COMMON GOAL

The expert therapists at The Bridge are united by a common goal: to help our community return to the activities what they love through a unique, multidisciplinary approach to injury treatment & performance training.

The individualized treatment & training programs are focused on high-quality movement and our therapists seek to educate, empower, and guide patients all the way from rehab to full performance.

A VISION FOR THE FUTURE

Instead of reactive, we want to get proactive… If you own a car, you know how important it is to take it into the shop for regularly scheduled tune-ups. Without that maintenance, the life of your car is dramatically reduced. Our team is applying the same idea to the body. Preventative treatment and maintenance should be seen as the first step in living full, healthy, and active lifestyles.
