Biography
I have always had an interest for sports, performance and wellness. I graduated from the University of Lethbridge in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Management degree in Finance.
From there, I spent some time in the field of exercise science as a personal trainer, Exercise Physiologist and Kinesiology instructor before completing my Master’s of Science degree in Psychology.
I believe that my education and past experience allows me to take a more wholistic approach to understand how the mind and body function. In addition to my educational background, I have a specialized certificate in Sport Psychology and am now a Registered Provisional Psychologist in the province of Alberta.
I believe one of my greatest strengths is my ability to relate to my clients. As a former professional athlete myself, I know the importance of the mental side to performance and have experienced many of the challenges that I see in the athletes that I work with.
While I have a particular passion in working with athletes, I also work with clients from a variety of backgrounds and objectives for seeing a psychologist including supporting their mental health.
My therapeutic approach combines creating a safe, comfortable environment with a positive, growth-mindset attitude where the client is ultimately the expert in their own journey.
I use a lot of Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Mindfulness to help people cope with stress, anxiety, sleep issues, pain management, low self-esteem, and mental blocks or fears.
My goal is to help my clients break through their barriers, achieve their goals and reach their full potential, whether that be in sport, performance, work or just life in general.
