Biography
My journey to becoming a physiotherapist began in high school when my own injuries from the basketball court led me to seek treatment from a physiotherapist. I became instantly drawn to this profession where I could blend my desire to connect with people with a passion for health and exercise. This led me to the University of Alberta to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology followed by a Master of Science in Physiotherapy, taking some time in between degrees to work as a personal trainer and travel.
I appreciate having a career that gives me the opportunity to guide others on their journey to better health and performance, to help people achieve their goals or return the activities that they love. I enjoy the challenge of analyzing movement biomechanics, finding dysfunctions and solutions. My passion for exercise is reflected in a treatment style that focuses on optimizing strength, mobility, and quality of movement through appropriate exercise prescription.
I believe that personalized exercise programming in alignment with the client’s needs and goals is the best way to facilitate recovery and performance. I also use methods such as acupuncture, dry needling, joint manipulation, and soft tissue techniques to provide the best possible outcomes for my clients. I have a special interest in sport injuries and I love working with athletes anywhere on the spectrum from injury prevention to rehabilitation to sport performance.
Outside of work, I enjoy strength training and running in our beautiful river valley. I love to travel, spend time outside, drink coffee, and share moments with friends and family.
